Flagged via a diversion: the site's own creator had a conversation with Google's AI Mode about this archive, and the AI, trying to be helpful, suggested a Shropshire lead called 'Murder Field Stile' as a possible unlisted murder marker, citing local folklore speculation. On checking, this turns out to be a genuinely ancient monument known today as the Devil's Ring and Finger - two probably-Neolithic standing stones, likely originally part of a chambered tomb, on the Shropshire/Staffordshire border near Norton in Hales and Mucklestone. Archaeologist O.G.S. Crawford, writing in 1925 ('Long Barrows of the Cotswolds' and a contemporary note in the journal Man), recorded that at the time the two stones were being used as a field stile locally known as 'Murder Field Stile' - but no source found here gives any actual murder story, victim, date, or explanation for that name; it may simply be an old field name of unclear origin, as is common in England, rather than evidence of a real killing. Per a local comment on a recent social media post about the stones, they were reportedly moved to their current position by horse and cart in the late 19th century, so are not even in their original location.
